This article explains how to anchor files using Egnyte. Anchored files will be given default access rules (rules that must be satisfied) in order to be consumed.
Egnyte Web
Users can access Egnyte using the web interface.
How to Anchor Files Using Egnyte Web
Step 1: Go to Egnyte's shared folder and find the unencrypted file you would like to encrypt. Right Click on the unencrypted file and select 'Secure with Anchor.'
Step 2: You will be redirected to a new window, letting you know your file has been successfully Anchored.
How to Remove Anchor Protection Using Egnyte Web
The decrypted files will be stored in Egnyte.
Step 1: Depending on your configuration, Anchored files may or may not be set up to have a .da. If so, select a “.da” file. If not, select any file that is protected. Open up the right-click menu and select 'Remove Anchor Protection.'
Step 2: A new window will open to notify you that Anchor protection is being removed. The file will be securely decrypted in Anchor servers and the decrypted file is saved back to Egnyte.
