Article Summary

The Anchor platform will enforce the access policy that is defined in the Anchor dashboard. Our integration with the Egnyte cloud content platform will ensure your users have access to Anchored content through predictable and consistent processes defined in our administrative dashboard.

How Anchor enforces policy on Egnyte stored Anchored content:

  • Valid user sessions: The end-user must have a valid Anchor account to use the Anchor features provided by our integration with Egnyte.
  • Valid users may: Access  Anchored files and interact with content based on their specific user permissions (i.e. Anchor, unAnchor, Share, Open, View Logs) in protected folders assigned to their specific user roles. The format for the protected folder is: \\\\egnytedrive\\anchormydata\\shared\\documents
  • User management for Egnyte: Users can be added to the Anchor platform by simply adding them to a user role. If you add a user to a user role and they are not part of Anchor, they will then be added to the Anchor platform. Users can only be added if they belong to a valid email domain (which is maintained in the default user role). Admins will have the ability to edit valid email domains.
