This article demonstrates how to install the Anchor desktop agent v5.3+ manually.
For instructions on installing the desktop agent on Windows Server 2016 and above, scroll to the bottom of this article.
Installing Anchor 5.3+ on Windows 10 and 11
Steps
- Ensure you have completed all the items in Minimum System Requirements.
- Download the Anchor installer zip file.
- Go to the admin dashboard and click installers.
- Click the download icon corresponding to your desired version of Anchor (note that this guide is for Anchor 5.3+, for earlier versions, click here).
- Unzip the downloaded zip file to get the
AnchorInstaller.exe
executable.
3. Double-click on AnchorInstaller.exe
to launch the GUI.
- Enter your organization ID in all lowercase.
- The installation will start, and
AnchorInstaller.exe
will display a progress bar.
- Once installation is complete, you will be prompted to reboot. Please click on the Reboot button to complete the installation. Rebooting is mandatory for Anchor to function correctly.
- Finally, sign in to the Anchor agent.
Installing Anchor 5.3+ on Windows Server
Ensure you have completed all the items in Minimum System Requirements.
Download the Anchor installer zip file.
- Go to the admin dashboard and click installers.
- Click the download icon corresponding to your desired version of Anchor (note that this guide is for Anchor 5.3+).
- Unzip the downloaded zip file to get the
AnchorInstaller.exe
executable.
Open Command Prompt/Powershell with admin permissions.
Navigate to the folder where the extracted
AnchorInstaller.exe
is located.Run the command
AnchorInstaller.exe --org-id <org-id> --skip-os-check
.Reboot the computer.
Sign in to the Anchor agent.
