Article Summary

This article will explain the "Access Control Heartbeat Rate" and "User Roles Update Rate" in the Admin Dashboard.

Step 1: Log into the Admin Dashboard navigate to Settings>Global Policies>Admin Configurations and scroll down to find "Timing Settings".

Step 2: Enter your desired time settings and select "update".

Access Control Heartbeat Rate is the rate at which the access rules are checked and verified in terms of seconds. In the image below, the default rate is set to 10 seconds. This means every 10 seconds checks are taking place to ensure the user(s) are in compliance with all set access rules. If the user(s) are found in compliance they will continue to have access to anchored files. If the user(s) are violating one or more access rules, access to all anchored data will be revoked. If any anchored files are open they will be saved, closed, and inaccessible until the next check shows them in compliance again.

User Roles Update Rate is the rate at which the endpoint agent checks the cloud for any changes to user roles. In the image below, the default rate is set to 60 seconds. This means every 60 seconds the agent checks with the cloud for any changes to the user roles. As an example, if you adjust a user role, please wait 60 seconds before testing the changes on the endpoint.
